THE SWEDE
Rye bread with cheese,
cold-smoked ham and pickles
 
4 portions

Ingredients

4 slices of rye bread 

1 dl shredded rich flavoured cheese, e.g. ’västerbottensost’
2 tsp shredded horseraddish
1 dl mayonnaise
8 slices of cold-smoked ham
2 whole pickled cucumbers
cress
salt and pepper from a grinder

Pickled vegetables
1 small carrot, peeled
1 small parsnip, peeled
1/2 dl white whine vinegar
1 dl sugar
1 1/2 dl water
2 bay leaves

Instructions 

1. Mix the cheese, horseraddish and mayonnais together.
2. Sprinkle salt and pepper.
3. Spread the mayo-blend on the bread.
4. Put the ham and the pickles on top.

5. Garnish with cress.
